Which ski resorts are the most popular? Here are a few suggestions to consider when planning a skiing or snowboarding trip to Slovakia:

Jasná Nízke Tatry / Chopok Ski Resort (about 170 km from Wisła) - offers many ski slopes of varying difficulty for skiers and snowboarders. Scenic views are also a highlight here. The resort is located in Liptov and is surrounded by the picturesque Low Tatras National Park. Winter sports enthusiasts have access to 46 km of diverse ski slopes, including dedicated runs for snowboarders. Thanks to the artificial snow production system, the winter season typically lasts from December to April. For experienced skiers looking for high-speed skiing, special freeride zones are available. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that there's a water park with thermal pools called Tatralandia, located nearby (about 19 km from the resort).

Tatranská Lomnica (about 225 km from Wisła) - is the highest ski resort on the Slovak side of the Tatras. It offers ski slopes suitable for various skill levels. Gentle slopes are available for beginners, while advanced skiers can find more challenging runs. The resort also has ski schools and equipment rentals. Snowboard enthusiasts can enjoy a snowpark, and families with children will appreciate family-friendly slopes and amenities.

SKI PARK Kubínska hoľa (about 115 km from Wisła) - is also an interesting option for a winter trip to Slovakia. The resort is located in the picturesque region of Upper Orava. It offers 14 km of ski slopes, chairlifts, and ski lifts, children's slopes, and night skiing. The peak station's altitude is 1396 m above sea level, and the base station is at 720 m above sea level. SKI PARK Kubínska hoľa also features 10 km of cross-country skiing trails. If you're interested in exploring some history and art of Slovakia, don't miss the Orava Castle, just 13 km from the resort.

PARK SNOW Donovaly (about 150 km from Wisła) - is also an interesting resort, especially for children. PARK SNOW Donovaly is situated on the border of the Low Tatras and Great Fatra National Parks. It features one of the largest children's areas in Europe. The resort offers a total of 11 km of ski slopes, with 7.4 km being artificially snow-covered. There are 2 chairlifts and 14 ski lifts on-site. The children's area includes 9 conveyor lifts and a carousel. You can also find a snowpark with obstacles of varying difficulty. The slopes are illuminated, allowing for night skiing.

Ružomberok Malinné Brdo Ski Resort (about 130 km from Wisła) - is located on the slopes of the Great Fatra mountain range. From the top of Malinó Brdo, you can enjoy views of the Slovak mountain ranges. The resort is equipped with artificial snowmaking and lighting systems. The total length of available ski slopes is 12 km. The slopes are located at altitudes ranging from 545 to 1209 meters above sea level. The resort is also prepared for freeriders and snowboarders, and there are cross-country skiing trails of varying difficulty levels.

Poland vs. Slovakia - Where to Go Skiing?

Planning winter holidays and a skiing trip is often done well in advance, which is entirely understandable, as it is an important and demanding endeavor. Winter vacations in Polish mountains are undoubtedly more economical than skiing in the Alps. An alternative to winter holidays in Poland is a vacation in Slovakia. Breathtaking views are an unquestionable attraction.

Ski resorts in Slovakia also offer many additional attractions, such as freeride zones, snow parks, well-marked cross-country skiing trails, and modern equipment. Major resorts also have illuminated slopes and snowmaking systems. Another advantage is the opportunity to experience the culture of our southern neighbors and enjoy water parks and thermal baths.

It's important to note that Polish ski resorts are in no way inferior to those in Slovakia. Ongoing investments and preparations for changing climate conditions are taking place. Polish resorts are equipped with professional lighting and slope snowmaking. In Polish mountains, you can find interesting cross-country skiing trails and ski trails.
