In the heart of Wisła lies a true gem where history meets recreation, and the surrounding greenery offers a moment to catch your breath – this is Stanisław Kopczyński Park.
And although when planning a stay in Wisła we mostly think of mountain hiking and sports excitement, it's also worth getting to know this unique place, which creates a perfect space for a walk and discovering local points of interest.
Located right next to the main promenade, the park is the vibrant center of Wisła. But who exactly was its patron? Stanisław Kopczyński (1873-1933) was an eminent physician and social activist, recognized as the creator of Polish school hygiene. Although he worked in Warsaw on a daily basis, he was strongly connected to Wisła – he built a villa here and was also buried here. Naming the park after him was a tribute to his merits and his love for this place.
The park itself, although it has existed in its modern form for only a short time, has a long history. Its beginnings date back to the interwar period, and in the 1960s, its characteristic stone sculptures of bears appeared. Today's multifunctional shape is the result of a thorough revitalization completed around 2012, which transformed it into a complex full of surprises.
What must you see in Kopczyński Park?
Historic Adventure Park: This is an absolute hit, especially for families, created during the last modernization. The educational path with mosaic miniatures of the most famous buildings along the Vistula River is truly impressive. In one place, you can see the Castle of the President of the Republic of Poland from Czarne, Wawel Castle in Kraków, and even the Gdańsk Crane. It's a unique journey along the queen of Polish rivers in a nutshell.
Avenue of Tales and Legends: While walking through the park, you will come across a series of wooden sculptures depicting characters from Beskid legends. It's a great opportunity to learn about local folklore in an accessible way and take memorable, atmospheric photos.
Vistula Springs Monument: The characteristic sculpture of a water nymph is a symbolic representation of the river's sources. It's a popular meeting place and a must-see point on the map of every tourist visiting the park.
Recreation Zone: The park also caters to lovers of active leisure. A modern and safe playground awaits the youngest visitors, while older ones can use the outdoor gym, skatepark, or multi-purpose sports fields.

You will find numerous restaurants serving regional delicacies, cafes with delicious coffee and cake, and shops with souvenirs and handicrafts.
The A. Podżorski Beskid Museum: Just a short walk separates the park from one of the most important cultural sites in the region.
